Revues.org is a federation of reviews in Social Sciences which defends an open design of the scientific edition. The constitution of a true edition of free on line access is a truly major editorial, scientific and democratic stake and challenge. The development of reviews existing already in paper format, but also of specifically electronic reviews (born digital), takes part in the international opening-up of French research and its emancipation from a confined distribution and reading systems. Lastly, the innovating adoption of the electronic medium makes possible a new types of edition, which largely remain to be invented.

The Virtual Library of Periodicals/journals is a French and Quebec project developed and updated by about fifteen librarians and documentalists. To date, it indexes approximately 500 reviews and electronic magazines offering their contents on Internet.
